Born in 1997, Ludovic Fleury lives and works in Paris.
A painter and installation artist, he approaches the canvas as a threshold: a surface where the friction between bodies, devices and environments is experienced.
Heir to the painters of flesh, he nourishes his practice with a dark ecology and a brutal poetics of care, using the experience of chronic illness as a critical prism for contemporary tensions. Vulnerability, duality and fracture are not themes for him, but lived realities that he transmutes into images.
His painting, layered with translucent washes, retractions and expressive brushstrokes, unfolds areas where the figure bends, fragments and then resists. Flesh, enclosed interiors and clinical lighting reveal the invisible. For him, it is a question of materialising what is silenced: loss, alienation and resistance; an embodied approach to turmoil. With Trouble de la chair (2024) and Exposum (2025-), Fleury affirms an aesthetic of presence. Ethereal colours and chromatic accents support a language of vulnerability: ambiguous, unstable and expressive, favouring sensation over figuration.
More recently, his works compose the outside: areas where one breathes deeply alongside the humus and vegetation of the margins. Ludovic Fleury’s painting stands out by making visible what is hidden in the body. Without promising convalescence, it invites us to inhabit the fault line—between control and chaos—as a means of subsistence and a membrane of resonance between living beings.
