Ludovic Fleury

Born in 1997, Ludovic Fleury lives and works in Paris. A painter and installation artist, he approaches the canvas as a threshold: a surface where the frictions between bodies, apparatuses, and environments are put in tension. Influenced by the painters of flesh, he feeds his practice with a dark ecology and a brutal poetics of care, taking the experience of chronic illness as a critical prism for contemporary disorder. For him, vulnerability and duality are not themes but lived realities that he transmutes into images.
Fleury asserts an aesthetics of presence. His painting – stratified by translucent washes, subtractions, and expressive brush gestures – unfolds zones where the figure bends, fragments, then resists. Flesh, enclosed interiors, and clinical lighting sustain a language of the vulnerable: ambiguous and unstable, privileging sensation over figuration.
Painting as practiced by Ludovic Fleury distinguishes itself by materialize what is silenced: pain, loss, and resistance — an embodied approach to disquiet. His aim is to invite us to inhabit the turmoil—between control and chaos—as a means of subsistence and a membrane of resonance between living beings.
